How to read Decode Ethics Book?

I have been getting questions about how to read Decode Ethics Book to maximize the output. Well, one should look to do following:

• Read syllabus first, twice or even thrice to know whats coming your way and to become aware of basic keywords.
• There are 420 odd pages in the book. Ideally, one can read about 60-70 pages per day. So, you can finish first reading of book in a week or so max.
• Do not underline anything in the first reading. Just read. Try to understand basics. If you are unable to understand then no issues. You will understand gradually.
• Google the terms you are unable to understand.
• Underline only during the second read. Mark important keywords, quotes etc.
• Make notes during third read from important lines/words marked.
• Make a dictionary of keywords for answer writing.
• Ethics is static subject and should be covered before prelims.

How to read question answers?

• Read the answer format. Read it again and again to feed it in your memory and conscience. Then only you will understand why a particular question is answered in a particular way.
• Read answers and look for structure:
  • Intro
  • Keywords definition
  • Keywords used in answer
  • Points
  • Examples
  • Diagram
  • Conclusion

• Mark keywords in answer. This is important to make you realize the importance and method of using keywords in answer.
• Similarly, read examples carefully.
• Solve the sample questions given with particular topic and at end of chapter.

• DO NOT LEARN the diagrams. Each question has its own diagram from the answer body itself. So just understand the diagram and develop mindset and skill to draw diagram.

Hence, focus shall be on knowing the syllabus, concepts, important keywords, answer format, examples and keywords usages and diagram making.
