TOPICS THAT YOU SHOULD IGNORE & WHY:

  • Wisdom finds truth: because it is too abstract and on first thought, one can not find too many points or dimensions to write on this topic.

Rest of the topics are fairly easy to write. Section-A has philosophical essays. Here I have dealt with how to write philosophical essays. The post mentions in detail about how to deal with such essays (multidimensional, current based, diagram, not restricted to philosophy)

For example, “Courage to accept and dedication to improve are two keys to success” is a philosophical topic but can be easily written in multiple dimensions as follows:

  • Intro: Define Courage as a cardinal virtue given by Aquinas and Aristotle. Define Dedication as a moral attitude or virtue as precribed by ‘xyz religious text’. This brings rich content in intro.
  • History: How historically things have changed from stone age to present age. If scientists didnt have courage to accept the truth and dedication to improve then we could not have found even electricity, forget going to space.
  • Dimensions: Start with sociological dimensions with sub-dimensions of women, farmers and youth. “Courage to accept” the fact that women in India are still not treated equally is needed and “dedication to improve” is needed so that “success” is achieved with respect to same via political reservation, empowerment, tackling crimes, tackling patriarchy etc.
  • Similarly pick another sociological dimension and link it with given topic.

  • Economic dimensions can include courage to accept jobless growth, slowdown in economy, setbacks in industrial sector etc and dedication to improve in same to achieve success via governmental boosts, tax rationalization, ease of business, policy clarity etc.
  • Similarly, other dimensions like environment, political, psychological, sports etc can be handled.

Hence, the key is to have a mindset of writing philosophical essays in multiple dimensions. Then only one can write as such and link with current and GS.

Section-B is very easy with GS based essay topics. A good reading of GS and you can easily deal with them.
